She spent some of her early years in Indiana, where she sang in her grandfather’s church. She relocated to Muncie, Indiana, with her mother as a teenager. In order to avoid confusion with another actress named Cindy Williams who was already registered with the Screen Actors Guild under the same name, Cynda Williams changed her first name to “Cynda” in 1989. Cynda Williams has had a long acting career, appearing in both films and television.
