Scott Hoying

Scott Hoying is said to have started performing at the young age of 8. He is a songwriter and pianist who graduated from Martin High School in Arlington, TX and then enrolled at USC where he became part of SoCal VoCals, a popular and accomplished campus acapella group.

He has always been involved in various musical projects even before the success in Pentatonix. He was once a finalist on CBS’ Star Search and appears to be a favorite for performing the national anthem at various professional and collegiate sporting events.

Mitch Grassi

Mitch Grassi fairly recently graduated from high school, making him the youngest member of the acapella group. He entered numerous talent shows and even won the Teen Talent Follies after doing a beautiful rendition of Scott Alan’s Kiss the Air .

As well as being a vocalist with Pentatonix, the young talent continues to hone his production and DJing skills as his music tastes extend to underground club and electronic music.

Kristin Maldonado

Kristin Maldonado honed her own skills while she was a touring member at the Arlington Theater, where she spent eight years learning to sing eight-part harmonies. Immediately prior to joining Pentatonix, she was a National Hispanic Scholar and a sophomore in Musical Theater at the University of Oklahoma.

Kristin began classical training in high school and was a member of the Texas All-State Choir for three years. In July 2017 she released her first solo EP “Love”.

Kevin “KO” Olusola

Kevin Olusola is the son of a Nigerian psychiatrist and nurse from Grenada. From an early age he learned piano, cello and saxophone and performed twice as a soloist at Carnegie Hall. He attended Phillips Academy in Andover and after graduating enrolled at Yale University. Kevin was pre-med at Yale studying East Asia.

In college, he began to develop a skill known as “celloboxing,” in which he plays the cello and beatbox at the same time. On March 10, 2015, he released a solo album called The Renegade EP, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Traditional Classical and Classical Crossover charts.
